Refund and cancellation policy
This policy applies to professional engagement fees for audits for fintech and related reviews offered by Elm Harbor Controls. It does not cover products we do not sell.
Eligibility
Refunds relate only to prepaid engagement fees or deposits paid to Elm Harbor Controls under a signed engagement letter or confirmed briefing invoice. Website estimate requests create no charge.
Timeframe to request
Refund requests must be sent in writing to hello@dataroutingtech.digital within 14 days of the event giving rise to the request (for example, cancellation by either party), unless the engagement letter states a different window.
Full refund
A full refund of amounts paid is available if we cancel the engagement before fieldwork begins for reasons within our control, or if you cancel in writing more than 14 days before the scheduled kickoff and no preparatory work has started.
Partial refund
If you cancel fewer than 14 days before kickoff, or after document intake has begun, we may retain a portion of the deposit reflecting time already spent on scoping, document review, or scheduling—typically up to 40% of the deposit, documented in writing. Unused prepaid balances for work not performed may be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Non-refundable items
Fees for work already delivered (issued draft or final reports, completed briefings) are non-refundable. Third-party costs agreed in advance (for example, dedicated meeting room hire requested by the client) are non-refundable once incurred.
Deposits
The standard 40% deposit reserves the fieldwork window. It is applied to the final invoice. Deposit treatment on cancellation follows the full and partial refund rules above.
Rescheduling
You may request one reschedule of kickoff without fee if notice is given at least 10 days in advance and a new window within 60 days is agreed. Later or repeated reschedules may be treated as cancellation and rebooking.
No-shows
If key client contacts fail to attend scheduled interviews or on-site days without 48 hours’ notice, time reserved may be charged and is not refundable; remaining scope can be rebooked subject to availability.
Work already started
Once fieldwork or substantive document testing has started, fees for completed stages remain due. You may cancel remaining stages; unused future stages may qualify for partial refund after we issue a progress summary.
Refund process and method
Email hello@dataroutingtech.digital with your engagement reference, payment date, and reason. We confirm eligibility within 10 business days. Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 14 business days of approval, or by bank transfer to a Taiwan account you nominate if the original method is unavailable.
Processing time
Allow up to 14 business days after approval for the funds to appear, depending on your bank.
