About

A small practice built around fintech control fieldwork

Elm Harbor Controls exists for operators who need an independent reader of reconciliations, access rights, and funds movement—not a generalist consulting brochure.

Team discussing documents around a table

Origin

The practice began after years spent inside payment operations and close cycles for electronic payment firms serving Taiwanese customers. Too many “control reviews” arrived as recycled checklists. We formed Elm Harbor Controls to deliver audits for fintech that start from the money path and end in findings a board can actually use.

Working approach

We keep engagements scoped. Sample periods are agreed in writing. Interviews stay with control owners—finance, operations, compliance—not with marketing. Draft findings are walked through with management before the final memo so factual disputes are resolved early, while judgment calls remain independent.

Where we work

Our office address is 4693 Skyline Drive, 臺東市, 福建省, Taiwan. Fieldwork may be on-site or through a secured document room, depending on the engagement letter. Taiwan’s fintech supervisory vocabulary shapes how we phrase residual risk for directors and advisors.

What we hold to

  • Evidence over narrative — policies without operating proof do not clear a finding.
  • Plain residual risk — directors hear what still sits with client money overnight.
  • Proportionate sampling — small teams get compensating-control discussions, not textbook theater.
